My Mom and Missing Her

by Peaches
(College Park, MD)

Good morning, the anniversary of my Mom’s passing was 1/29. It’s been four years. Sometimes it’s like yesterday.

How can I find peace with her being with the Lord?

When I wish she was here. Her presence was so important to our family and now my family is not how it was when she lived and managed it. I am an adult child of hers. Her youngest.

Acceptance of Grief for your Mom
by: Lesley from GriefandSympathy.com

Hi Peaches

We are so sorry for your loss. Four years sounds a long time, but it's not really. Losing your Mom is a huge big deal at any age.

Do you have brothers and sisters you can talk to about it? Maybe you can arrange an event in your Mom's memory to bring you all together. It's often the case that a Mom is the glue which holds a family together and it takes a special effort to keep those relationships going.

We have a few pages about losing a Mom and also many pages on dealing with all aspects of grief:

How to Deal with Grief

If you don't find comfort from your family or any of our pages, you might find that you need some grief support. You can find groups online, or through your church or doctor.

We wish you peace and strength.
