Grief and Stress
by: Lesley from GriefandSympathy.com

Hi Stephanie

I completely relate to this. I had a major bereavement in January and it's as if I haven't stopped since with all the stuff that had to be sorted out with his estate. It is a stressful time and it's hard to be patient with lawyers and banks who seem to take forever.

I have finally managed to get away for some peace and quiet. I think the shock has worn off for me, but I fully expect exhaustion to set in and many emotions to bubble to the surface when my guard is down.

With a parent, it can take many months for the protective shock to wear off. There is no set time frame. We are all different.

What I would say, is try to make some time just for you. Do something relaxing every day, even if for just a few minutes. Grief and stress takes it out on us, and we do have to make the time to heal and recover.

I found meditation very useful, but whatever you love which helps you relax will be important.

Be kind to yourself.

Take care
